According to consistent information from “Bild”, “Sky” and “Deichstube”, Naby Keïta is about to leave Werder Bremen. The discarded midfielder is set to move to Hungarian record champions Ferencvárosi TC in the winter. A loan deal for one year is being considered – until the end of 2025. The 29-year-old professional would then be under contract with the Green-Whites for the 2025/26 return series.

It is currently uncertain whether a purchase option will also be integrated. It is said that the deal will most likely be finalized at the beginning of next week. Keïta still has to complete the medical tests in Budapest on Saturday. It seems possible that SV Werder will have to contribute to the ex-Liverpool player’s salary, which is between 1.5 million euros and 2 million euros. If the move goes ahead as expected, Keïta can look forward to appearances in the Europa League – unlike in Bremen. Internationally, his new club has so far recorded three wins and two defeats. The league is currently led by Puskás Akadémia FC.

“The fact is that we have clearly made the decision that he will not return to first team training. This was not a consensus between the two parties. “That was a statement we made,” Werder’s licensing department manager Peter Niemeyer told “Bild” at the beginning of November after Keïta expressed hope for a comeback on the Weser. The veteran had asked for a chance via “Bild” after he was suspended in the spring and was only allowed to train with the Green-Whites’ U23 team.

“It is not my decision that I should leave Bremen. The best thing for me would be to be part of the professional team again tomorrow and play for Werder Bremen,” said Keïta. The Guinean refused to go to the Bundesliga away game in Leverkusen on matchday 29 of the previous season because he was only called up for the squad and not for the starting eleven.
