Although the transfer window in Greece has been closed for five days, Dejan Lovren’s transfer to PAOK Thessaloniki has finally gone through. The 35-year-old veteran comes on a free transfer from Olympique Lyon, which thereby gets rid of one of the three highest earners in the squad.
According to media reports, PAOK was granted an exemption for the transfer as the Greek champions were able to prove a full agreement with Lyon before the deadline day. Lovren, who only played eleven games for Olympique last season, signed a two-year contract with PAOK. Greece is the fifth international point for him in his professional career.
