Lukas Kübler has extended his contract with SC Freiburg (32). As usual, the people from Breisgau did not provide any information about the new term. The established right-back came to Freiburg from SV Sandhausen on a free transfer in 2015 and has played 188 games (nine goals) for the sports club to date – 25th place in the ranking of players with the most appearances.
“We are entering our tenth year together with Kübi. Among other things, he is characterized by his strength in duels, his flexibility and his ambition. His development goes hand in hand with the development of the entire club. Kübi is a good example that even in difficult times it’s worth sticking with it and fighting back. With his footballing biography, he can also be a role model for the younger colleagues in our team,” said sports director Klemens Hartenbach.
Kübler added: “Over the past nine and a half years I have gotten to know this club very well. The family environment and the approach of the club and employees fit my thinking perfectly. I’m looking forward to more intensive work on the training pitch and lots of highlights over the weekend.”
