Apparently the next injury-related cancellation for the German national team: According to consistent media reports from “Bild” and “Sky”, among others, David Raum is also out of the Nations League games in Bosnia-Herzegovina (October 11th) and against the German national team due to an injury Netherlands (October 14th). Robin Gosens, who last played for the DFB team in October last year, is said to have been nominated for RB Leipzig’s left-back.
It would be the fourth cancellation since the squad was announced last Thursday. National coach Julian Nagelsmann had previously been without FC Bayern’s Jamal Musiala (hip flexor problems), Arsenal’s Kai Havertz (knee joint) and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Robin Koch (hip). In addition, West Ham’s Niclas Füllkrug (Achilles tendon) is unavailable. So far, VfB Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling, Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt and FC Brentford’s Kevin Schade have been nominated.
Gosens has 20 international players on his roster; the left-wing player only made his debut under Joachim Löw in 2020 at the advanced age of 26. At the home European Championship last summer, the 30-year-old, who moved from Union Berlin to AC Florenz before the season, had high hopes of taking part, but did not receive a ticket and instead worked on TV as an expert.
