Ismaël Bennacer (27) was trained in England, and he became a star in Italy. The Algerier once only played in the second division in his country of birth in France. Now the defensive midfielder is moving back home with Olympique Marseille for the first time in more than seven years.

It is a loan to the end of the season that Bennacer leads to Provence at AC Milan after more than five years. Milan had transferred over 17 million euros to Bennacers to FC Empoli in 2019 – at that time the fourth highest transfer for an Algerian footballer in general. With the Rossoneri he won the championship in 2022 and played 178 competitive games (eight goals, twelve templates) for Milan. His contract in Lombardy runs until 2027.
