A move of former Stuttgart player Nico González within Serie A is taking shape. As the editorial team of Gianluca Di Marzio reports, AC Florence has given its consent for a sale. Juventus Turin and Atalanta Bergamo have submitted offers, but have not yet met Fiorentina’s demands.

There is talk that both interested parties are offering a transfer fee of 30 million euros each. However, Florence is said to be demanding 40 million euros – 5 million euros more than González’s current market value. This would make the Argentine one of the most expensive sales in the club’s history. The Viola received at least that amount four times, three times thanks to Juve: in 2017, Federico Bernardeschi moved to the Old Lady for 40 million euros, in 2022 Federico Chiesa cost 44.6 million euros and in 2021 Dušan Vlahović joined Florence’s record departure – cost: 83.5 million euros. Now González could also take the step, as he is said to have decided on Juve. However, Atalanta is not out of the running, it is said.

The international player already had the opportunity to move last summer, but Florence vetoed it. Brentford FC is said to have offered around 41 million euros. “He is the key player for us. He is not for sale and will not be on the market,” said managing director Joe Barone at the time. González, the most valuable player in the squad with a market value of 35 million euros, instead extended his contract until 2028.

Fiorentina made him one of VfB Stuttgart’s most expensive departures in 2021, when 24.5 million euros went to the Swabians. Since then, the offensive all-rounder, who has repeatedly struggled with injury problems, has contributed 38 goals and 19 assists in 125 games and reached the final of the Conference League twice with the team from Tuscany, but it was not enough to win the title.
