Paris Saint-Germain made the title defense perfect on the 28th matchday in Ligue 1. With a 1-0 (0: 0) home win against Angers SCO, the undefeated league leader with 74 points expanded the lead over pursuer AS Monaco to 24 points for the time being.

For the Parisians it is the fourth championship title in a series and the 13th of the club’s history – but not the earliest. In the 2015/16 season, PSG secured the trophy eight game days before the end of the season. A French champion has never remained undefeated.

Before the important quarter-final first leg in the Champions League on Wednesday (9 p.m.) against Aston Villa, coach Luis Enrique even afforded to protect some stars such as top scorer Ousmane Dembélé. PSG played superiorly against the promoted climber, but only got a few chances. The goal of the day scored offensive talent Désiré Doué in the 55th minute.
