Joshua Zirkzee experiences a difficult time at Manchester United. This now also has an impact on his career in the Dutch national team. Bondscoach Ronald Koeman does not use him for the National League games. “He was not in the pre -selection because I think that he is not good enough at the moment,” said the coach, according to “FussballTransfers.com” in the “Studio Voetbal”. The squad has not yet been officially announced.
“Fitness and shape should be crucial for a player. Of course, this is not always possible. But ultimately you have to earn the selection through shape, fitness and playing many games. I don’t think that is now the case, ”said Koeman. With this, Zirkzee misses the quarter -finals against Spain on March 20 and 23.
Circle was switched from FC Bologna to Man United last summer for 42.5 million euros and thus lined up among the top 10 most expensive Dutch. Instead, Koeman relies on Brian Brobbey by Ajax, Memphis Depay by Corinthians as well as the flexibly usable Cody Gakpo of Liverpool and Donyell painting by Aston Villa. The door for a return to the national team remains open to Zirkzee: “In another phase, that could change again.”
Also not there is Zirkzeee’s teammate Matthijs de Ligt. The central defender is set in the triple chain under Amorim, but was rarely able to provide stability.
