Transfermarkt has subjected the Premier League in Malta to a market value update. Maxuell Samurai was able to record one of the biggest jumps. The 33-year-old striker from Brazil scored nine goals in nine games for four-time champions and six-time cup winners Birkirkara FC, making the veteran top scorer. As a reward, Samurai made a jump from 125,000 to 350,000 euros (+180%), once again reaching his career best.
The second best snapper is Nigerian Franklin Sasere from 26-time league champions Floriana FC with seven goals. As a result, the 26-year-old rose from 150,000 euros to his personal best of 400,000 euros (+167%), putting him at the top of the league’s most valuable professionals.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
