Shortly before the end of the year, the market values in the international leagues are traditionally updated at Transfermarkt. On Tuesday, updates were made in the Japanese J1 League and the Colombian League Dimayor, in which some well-known players were devalued.

On the new market values of the J1 League / On the new market values of the Dimayor League

In Japan’s upper house, the red pen is given to former Bundesliga professionals Hiroshi Kiyotake (35; on 200,000 euros), Genki Haraguchi (33; on 450,000 euros), Shinji Kagawa (35; on 300,000 euros) and Gotoku Sakai (33; on). 450,000 euros), all of which are 50,000 euros forfeit. Things have fallen even more significantly for ex-HSV Tolgay Arslan (34), who has lost 100,000 euros in value and is now valued at 900,000 euros. The former Mainz player Yoshinori Muto (32) is also significantly devalued, by 200,000 to 1.2 million euros.

Hayao Kawabe (29) remains the most valuable professional in the league despite the update’s biggest loss of one million euros. The Sanfrecce Hiroshima midfielder is now listed at €4 million. His first pursuer is Samuel Gustafson (29) with 2.8 million euros, but the Swede is also downgraded (-200,000 euros).

Update Liga Dimayor: Change at the top – minus for old stars like Falcao

In the Dimayor League, however, there is a change at the top of the top market values. The previously highest valued Alfredo Morelos (29) from Atlético Nacional is the only one to lose a seven-figure amount and falls to 2 million euros after a loss of 1.2 million euros. Now at the top is a trio consisting of Yeison Guzmán (26; unchanged), Duván Vergara (28; +800,000 euros) and Marino Hinestroza (22; +300,000 euros), each worth 2.8 million euros.

As in Japan, some old stars in Colombia cannot maintain their market values. These include the 129-time national goalkeeper David Ospina (36; -200,000 to 600,000 euros) and the former top striker Radamel Falcao (38; -100,000 to 300,000 euros). Falcao, who won the Europa League with FC Porto and Atlético Madrid and for whom over 103 million euros were paid in transfer fees, has been playing for the 16-time Colombian champions Millonarios FC since July 2024, for whom he has played four times in 16 games so far met.

Furthermore, on December 10th, Transfermarkt also had market value updates in Ligue 1, the Austrian 2nd League, the Qatar Stars League and in the Dutch lower house, the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
