Mahomes’ Chiefs will play in their seventh consecutive Conference final

The water wets, the cold burns and Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas Chiefs make history. It is a maxim that has spread for more than the last five years in the NFLwhere the team that revolutionized the game together with the best quarterback since the emergence of Tom Bradyhas not stopped winning. They will play their seventh straight American Conference final, the last step before the dream of the ‘three-peat’ – the three consecutive championship titles.

There is no precedents in the history of the competition at the level of the Chiefs. The team of Kansas City has not failed since the Playoffs of 2019 and its hegemony still stands after defeating the Texans (23-14) in a tight Divisional round. Maybe It wasn’t a clash of brilliance and show, but it was enough for them to add the seventh presence after those that measured the Patriots (2019), Titans (2020), Bills (2021), Bengals (2022 and 2023) and Ravens (2024). They wait, again, to the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens.

Patrick Mahomes was, once again, their key. In the last quarter, the game was close (12-13, 11:50 to go) and that usual dance between risk and spectacle appeared. He came out of cover, a rival grabbed him and Mahomes threw a pass while falling. He connected with Travis Kelce and it was the impetus for a victory that certified the defense. He left the Texans without their pass after a great game… as they had more passing yards, more rushing yards and more first downs than the Chiefs. And Mahomes became the second quarterback, tied with Joe Montana, with the most wins (16) in Playoff history. Only Brady’s 35 surpass him.

The Cowboys are made ridiculous

It didn’t disappoint either. first Divisional of the National Conference. Because of the surprise of what happened.
