132 LaLiga professionals received a new market value, and 80 of them received a plus. FC Barcelona gets the most major upgrades and devaluations, Real Madrid sets a market value record, while Atlético’s squad value goes down.

Erling Haaland held the status of the sole most valuable footballer in the world for eight days. Real striker Vinicius Junior has now joined them thanks to an upgrade of 20 million euros – the Brazilian’s new market value is 200 million euros. He is the third player in TM market value history to reach this mark, after his new teammate Kylian Mbappé led the way in 2018.
LaLiga expert Tobias Blaseio on Vini Jr.’s new market value: “Vinicius has maintained his high level this season and is taking on a leadership role in the team with Valverde. In contrast to the stars Mbappé and Bellingham, who are in poor form. The Brazilian’s upcoming election as world footballer at the end of October would reward him for his achievements and crown his path to the top of the world.”
Midfield all-rounder Federico Valverde jumps from 120 million to 130 million euros, making him not only one of the biggest winners of the LaLiga update, but also one of the top 10 most valuable footballers in the world. There are also three devaluations in the most valuable squad at 1.36 billion euros – so the bottom line for the Royal team is an increase of 20 million euros.
10 upgrades and 5 downgrades for FC Barcelona – “You can rely on La Masia”
FC Barcelona’s squad value increased by 63.6 million to 940 million euros and is now slightly higher than that of FC Bayern (939.7 million). The decisive factor for this development is the upgrades for young players from the La Masia talent factory, especially Lamine Yamal. The European champion increases from 130 million to 150 million euros, making him one of the six highest-rated players in the world.
“Lamine appears to be redefining the boundaries of what is possible and continues to evolve at an unstoppable pace. At 17, he has become an integral part of the Spanish national team and Barça. This is at an age when most talents are dreaming of their professional debut. His influence and efficiency have increased enormously, and after nine league games he is already approaching his goal tally from the entire last season,” says market value admin Blaseio.
In addition to Lamine Yamal, the homegrown players Pau Cubarsí (+10 to 40 million), Marc Casadó (+12.5 to 15 million), Marc Bernal (+4 to 5 million) and Fermín López (+20 to 50 million) also receive .) considerable upgrades. “You can rely on La Masia. After the permeability to the first team was manageable for many years, one talent after another is currently making its way into the squad. With Hansi Flick it also seems to fit, hopefully the club will continue on this courageous path,” said Blaseio.
A homegrown player whose form and market value curve has been pointing downwards for years is Ansu Fati, for whom there is the sixth loss since his career high of 80 million euros in 2021. This time the injury-plagued winger, who has only made three short appearances this season, is going from 25 million to 15 million euros. There are further devaluations for the league leaders for Frenkie de Jong (-10 to 60 million), Andreas Christensen (-10 to 30 million), Marc-André ter Stegen (-8 to 20 million) and the newly signed goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny (-3 to 6 million).
This time the biggest loss goes to the most expensive LaLiga purchase of the summer, Atlético Madrid’s €75m Julián Alvarez. “The Argentine has suffered a significant loss of status with his move from Man City to Atlético, so his market value will be adjusted to the transfer fee – without clauses. The start of the season could have been better, but so far it has rarely been able to meet the high expectations. “Alvarez doesn’t seem to be feeling very well,” said Blaseio, explaining the devaluation from 90 million to 75 million euros. In terms of market value, the market value also continues to decline for the reservists Thomas Lemar (-2.5 to 7.5 million), Clément Lenglet (-5 to 5 million) and Javi Galán (-2 to 5 million) as well as Atleti squad (-19.5 to 510 million).
FC Girona climbed another step upwards (+8.5 to 216.5 million), which, despite valuable departures in the summer, established itself in terms of squad value above the 200 million mark and thus took 7th place in the league’s internal comparison. The biggest plus in the ranks of the Champions League participant is the 20-year-old storm talent Yaser Asprilla, who doubles his market value to 18 million euros. “Girona seems to have made a very interesting transfer with Asprilla. The Colombian has found a stable environment and could, in the best case scenario, develop in a similar way to Savinho, who moved to Man City. “He’s bringing his skills more and more onto the pitch,” says LaLiga expert Blaseio.
In total there are 13 players who get an even bigger plus than Asprilla. This includes Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García, who went from number two at a second division team to becoming a regular goalkeeper for the newly promoted team and new national player Spain within ten months. The new market value of 10 million euros pays tribute to the 23-year-old’s rapid development – before the update it was 800,000 euros.
The market value of Getafe newcomer Christantus Uche, who made the leap from a regular player in the Spanish third division to a regular player in LaLiga, also rose by 1,150 percent. His market value climbs from 400,000 euros – Getafe paid 500,000 euros to AD Ceuta for the Nigerian midfielder – to 5 million euros.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
