On Friday, November 15, television programming was marked by significant audience competition. The 1st of TVE opted for a double offer with the broadcast of the match of the Nations League and the Latin Grammy gala. Although football was a resounding success, the awards gala did not achieve the same impact.
The soccer match between Spain and Denmark It was the highlight of the night. With an audience of 3,077,000 spectators and a 25.2% screen sharethe meeting was consolidated as the most watched of the day. This excellent performance made it foreseeable that the Latin Grammy gala would take advantage of the pull of soccer to attract more spectators. However, expectations were quickly exceeded by a much lower than expected result.

Although the 2023 awards ceremony, held in Seville, was a great success with 2 million followers and a 21.5% share, this year’s edition held in Miami failed to attract the same attention. Viewership plummeted to 6.2%with only 519,000 viewers tuning in to the gala.
With soccer and the Latin Grammys out of the picture, the fight for the prime time audience focused on TV shows. Antena 3 and Telecinco. In this range, they stood out ‘The Voice’ and ‘Friday’‘, which disputed the viewers’ preference. Both programs reached a 12% audience share, but with certain variations throughout the night.
