Luca Zidane’s injury, who has suffered a sprained knee, and the doubts that arose in the two games he has played with Marc Martínez have led Granada to undertake this signing.

Mariño joined Granada’s training sessions on Tuesday and has a good chance of making his debut in the match they will play on Sunday at Elche.

Granada’s new goalkeeper was trained in the lower categories of Villarreal CF, before making the jump to the yellow first team in 2012.

He played for Real Valladolid and Levante UD before joining Real Sporting de Gijón, where he remained from 2016 until January 2023, when he was signed by UD Almería, his last team.

Diego Mariño has played 289 games in the Second Division and another 87 in the First Division.

The club welcomed him and wished him “the best of luck in his time with the red-and-white team.”
