CFC has been thinking for 2 weeks

There has been talk of a move for Mario Balotelli, without a club, to Serie A to Genoa CFC for around two weeks. The club is cautious because it knows about the 34-year-old striker’s scandalous past and fears his influence on the dressing room (see article). Coach Alberto Gilardino is a big supporter of the former Italian international – the ex-professional made that clear once again on Saturday.
At the matchday press conference before the away game at Lazio (Sunday, 3 p.m.), Gilardino replied to the question of whether Balotelli was the right player for his team: “Yes, absolutely. He is an unaffiliated player that I know and where the story speaks for itself. He’s a guy who still has the motivation and fire he needs to be at the top again.”
Gilardino once played together with Balotelli himself in the Squadra Azzurra (one game). And he knows: Due to injuries on the offensive, the Grifoni are in 18th place out of 20 with just six points after eight matchdays. It doesn’t make sense to talk intensively about a possible transfer of the striker before the Lazio game, but: “The The club knows what I think, that’s clear to everyone. We’ve been talking about certain situations for two or three weeks, and we’re a little late.”
