After the loss of Deniz Undav (28; torn muscle fiber), VfB Stuttgart will also have to be without his strike colleague El Bilal Touré for a long time. The 23-year-old suffered a metatarsal fracture, as the Bundesliga club announced on the day of their home game against VfL Bochum (3:30 p.m.). Touré needs surgery and will be out for several months.
The Malian suffered the injury while on international duty earlier this week. “We have to assume that it is a more serious injury,” VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß had recently said. The fears were confirmed. Touré is playing his first season with the Swabians. The striker is on loan from the Italian Europa League winner Atalanta BC and, after a short start-up period, came into focus in recent weeks when he scored the winning goals against newly promoted Holstein Kiel (2-1) and in the Champions League against Juventus (1-0 ) achieved.

In the coming weeks, Stuttgart will also have to make do without German international striker Undav, who is at risk of being out until the winter break due to a torn muscle fiber in his thigh. In addition, Jamie Leweling (23) has been missing from the offensive line since the beginning of November due to a muscle injury to his thigh.
