Contract at AS Roma ends

The long-time international and former top defender from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Mats Hummels, has announced the end of his professional career. After his contract at AS Rome, he would give up the football shoes, the 2014 world champion said on his social media. “The end. What a trip!” Wrote Hummels.
“I’m fighting with the emotions. Now the moment is coming … after over 18 years and so many things that football gave me, I end my career this summer. I think if I see it all, I know even more how much this whole trip meant this way to me and how extraordinary it was to be able to experience it,” said Hummels in a video of the most important scenes of his career. “There is a lot to be done: the right coaches at being fit at the right moment. I saw so many boys, so many boys that I owe so much without it, without it would not have started the whole career or would have come to this level.”
