On Wednesday, Transfermarkt reported on the upcoming or ongoing contract negotiations at FC Bayern (to the article). Sports director Max Eberl expects talks with players whose contracts end on June 30, 2025 and who have a combined market value of 182.7 million euros. No other club is threatened with free transfers of this magnitude next year. This is made clear by a look at the statistics of the most valuable players, who can negotiate freely with new clubs from January 1st, as well as the top eleven from a German and international perspective.

Of the five players worldwide whose contract ends next year who have a market value of at least 50 million euros, three play for Munich: Leroy Sané (28), Alphonso Davies (23) and Joshua Kimmich (29). While all parties have expressed optimism about DFB captain Kimmich in recent months, an extension with Davies is considered unlikely. Real Madrid has long been considered the biggest interested party in the Canadian, and FC Barcelona and Manchester United have also been linked with him. The Red Devils were also recently mentioned in connection with Sané (to the article), with whom Eberl is said to have already started discussions – the outcome is unclear.

If Davies decides to join Real, he could form the full-back duo with Trent Alexander-Arnold (26), who is still from Liverpool, in 2025/26. Since Daniel Carvajal’s (32) serious knee injury, the England international has been traded even more intensively with the Royals than he already was. Alexander-Arnold and Davies are expected to officially sign in Madrid or with another club in just over nine weeks.

Stars over the age of 30 who could move again for free next summer include Mohamed Salah (32), Heung-min Son (32), Kevin De Bruyne (33), Virgil van Dijk (33), Neymar (32), Marco Verratti (31), Paulo Dybala (30), Jorginho (32), İlkay Gündoğan (34) or even Lionel Messi (37) and Cristiano Ronaldo (39).

There are two other Bayern professionals in the German top eleven: Thomas Müller (35) and Manuel Neuer (38) – for both of them it will depend on whether and how they should continue their careers. Alexander Nübel (28; on loan in Stuttgart), Neuer’s potential successor, has long been under contract with the record champions.

Exciting: The statistics include Mainz striker Nelson Weiper (19), Hoffenheim’s Fritz Walter Medal winner Tom Bischof (19) and Holstein Kiel’s Colin Kleine-Bekel (21), who has been out for months with a cruciate ligament injury, three players under 22 years. You have to leave the top 25 worldwide to meet someone like this: Valencia defender and U19 European champion Yarek Gasiorowski (19) is valued at 15 million euros and is currently free of charge at the end of the season.

A lot of attention will be paid among top European clubs to how Roony Bardghji returns from the cruciate ligament tear he suffered in May. The 18-year-old from FC Copenhagen is the most valuable player in the Danish Superliga with a market value of 9 million euros – and was considered one of the greatest offensive talents in Europe until the injury.
