With Jens Petter Hauge the matter is actually clear: Eintracht Frankfurt and Bodø/Glimt have negotiated a purchase option for the possibility of a permanent transfer after the loan to Norway has just expired. Instead, the club from the Eliteserie apparently sent the Bundesliga club a completely different offer, which astonished those responsible for the SGE.

A purchase option of 5.5 million euros was said to have been negotiated. It is not known how high the offer was that the Norwegians made to the Hessians instead, but it was not in line with the market, as sports director Timmo Hardung made clear according to the “Frankfurter Rundschau”. He stated: “It’s strange when you negotiate a purchase option that you ultimately don’t want to use or can’t use. They would really like to buy Jens Petter, but they want to pay a significantly lower price for it.”

The result is that Hauge is training again with Eintracht for the time being. In Bodø everything has long been aimed at keeping the winger employed. He had done very well at his former training club in Nordland. In 44 games, Hauge scored twelve goals in the league, European Cup and cup. He prepared eleven goals for his teammates. He increased his market value by 2 million euros compared to the last update at Eintracht at the end of 2023.

Hauge’s market value, which was reached in the Norwegian league update in mid-December, is now 4.5 million euros and is almost close to the agreed purchase option. The irritation in Frankfurt was probably all the greater when the alternative offer arrived that was “completely below our expectations and also below the price” that had been discussed the previous winter, said Hardung. The SGE official emphasized: “This is not something we can seriously negotiate about.”
