Chelsea FC found a buyer for Ben Chilwell (28) within the Premier League. The left outer rail player switches to the city neighbor Crystal Palace until the end of the season. A purchase option was apparently not negotiated.
Chilwell did not play a role in Chelsea’s coach Enzo Maresca’s plans. At the end of September, he came to his only assignment this season in the English league cup against the fourth -class AFC Barrow (5-0). He was sitting on the bench only once again, and he was not appointed to the squad for the rest of the games. Since last summer, the market value of the 21-fold English international has dropped from 28 million to 20 million euros.
Even then, Chilwell was considered a candidate for sales, Maresca had suggested a change. “I said to Chilly that he was a nice guy, but in his position he will have problems with us. It is not brutal, but honestly, ”the coach had emphasized at the end of August. Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart were recently associated with Chilwell.
