Right winger in top form

Celtic Glasgow’s Nicolas Kühn made a name for himself outside of Scotland with his brace in the 3-1 win against former club RB Leipzig. A few days later he collected his scorer points 20 and 21 in the 2-0 win against Kilmarnock. The 24-year-old German’s performances have now aroused the interest of Brentford FC.
According to English media reports, the Bees have Kühn on the list as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo. These reports correspond to TM information. Mbeumo scored eight goals in eleven appearances in the Premier League and is repeatedly courted by top English clubs. The Frenchman is tied to the Londoners until 2026 and could therefore become a candidate for sale next summer at the latest.
Kühn moved from Rapid Vienna to Celtic in January 2024 for 3.5 million euros. The Austrians brought him from FC Bayern’s second team in 2022 for 500,000 euros. This season, the right winger scored ten goals in 17 appearances across all competitions and prepared eleven more – making him the German first division professional with the most goals. With Kühn signing a five-year contract in January, Celtic’s position in any potential negotiations is excellent. As the English media report, the Scots are demanding around 30 million euros for the former Germany junior international. This sum would make him the most expensive transfer in the club’s 137-year history.
“The Champions League was of course a childhood dream and has always been a clearly formulated goal of mine. I’m glad that the time has finally come,” said Kühn in an interview with Transfermarkt. He would have to leave the premier class behind at FC Brentford, at least for the time being, but he would be playing in a top 5 league for the first time and could get closer to his big dream of playing for the German national team.
