The injured Gleison Bremer has joined teammate Samuel Mbangula in thanking Thiago Motta for his efforts during his time with Juventus, but they are still the only two Bianconeri players to have sent the former coach a message after his dismissal on Sunday.

Juventus announced on Sunday that Motta had been sacked and replaced by Igor Tudor on an interim basis until the end of the 2024-25 season. The announcements arrived on Sunday, Motta and his staff emptied their lockers on Monday morning, and Tudor took charge of his first session in the afternoon.

Barely any of the Juventus players have expressed an opinion on social media after Motta’s sacking, which has led some to suggest that the former coach was not a particularly popular figure towards the end of his tenure.

Reports in Italy claim that the players felt his final sessions were ‘surreal’ due to a lack of change in approach despite the mounting pressure on the team and coach.

Mbangula, who was given his senior debut by Motta on the first Serie A match of the 2024-25 season – a 3-0 win over Como with the Belgian scoring the opener – was the first and for a while the only Juventus player to thank Motta for his efforts.

Bremer has since joined him with a message on his Instagram story, which read: “Thank you Mister and all of your staff. I sincerely wish you all the best for the future.”
