Raúl Asencio del Rosario made his debut this Saturday in an official match with Real Madrid in the victory against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Castilla center-back replaced Military in the first half and put together a great performance, in which his spectacular assist to Bellingham in the second merengue goal.
“Ever since I started playing football I dreamed of this. It is the dream of any boy who takes his first steps in football. Being able to have fulfilled this dream… I can’t find words to describe it,” commented the 21-year-old Canarian footballer in statements to Realmadrid TV.
Asencio explained how he experienced his promising debut with the white first team. “I entered the field, it didn’t take me long to assimilate the situation and I’ve seen the Bellingham movement. It is very easy to play alongside them, they are the best players in the world and they make things very easy,” he noted.

Regarding the congratulations of his teammates, Asencio said that “in those moments few words come out. It is a demonstration of what the team is, it is a family and in the training sessions that I am with them I notice it. “I keep this in my heart and in my head for life,” he added.
The Canarian defender, who joined Real Madrid in the 2017-18 season and is facing his second season in the reserve team, also spoke about his characteristics. “I define myself as a player who feels comfortable in the defensive aspect. I show a lot of character on and off the field. I like to help my colleagues. “I am serious, forceful and I always look out for the team,” he concluded.
