Valencia and Levante affected

Because of the severe storms, the Spanish football association RFEF has postponed six cup games. The away games between FC Valencia and city rivals UD Levante scheduled for Wednesday evening will not take place. Both clubs come from the region, which has been particularly affected by the devastating floods following heavy rain.

The home games of Deportivo Xerez and Chiclana CF were also postponed, and the Andalusia region was also hit hard. The games scheduled for Thursday between Hércules Alicante and Manises CF from the Valencia region have also been postponed. The duels should be rescheduled next week from Tuesday to Thursday.

At least 72 people have died in the storm disaster in Spain so far. Carlos Mazón, Prime Minister of the Valencian Community, had called on residents to move to higher ground. The Spanish Football Association expressed its condolences to the victims of the storm disaster.
