The urban artist TVBoy, who throughout his career has portrayed in his graffiti Messi, Alexia Putellas either Rosalia through the streets of Barcelona, this time he has painted a mural asking for respect for Laminate Yamal and Nico Williamstwo of the revelations of the Eurocup.
The image, located in the Glòries Park, shows the two youngsters from Barcelona and Athletic, aged 16 and 21 respectively, smiling and with a ball under their arms with the message in English ‘Respect!’ at the top and in red.
Laminate Yamalraised in the Rocafonda neighbourhood (Mataró, Barcelona) to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, and Nico Williams, born in Pamplona to Ghanaian parents, are part of the second generation of immigrants and now represent Spain at the top of European football.
“Respect to these boys! The new generations of football are infusing a renewed spirit of joy and happiness, representing a beacon of hope and positivity in a global context that often sees us divided,” TVBoy said on his Instagram profile.
The Italian artist, based in Spain, is known for his political satire, including world-famous athletes in some of his works, to combat social injustice and send powerful messages through art.
“Their enthusiasm and passion not only unite fans around the world, but also demonstrate how sport can be a powerful tool for social cohesion, breaking down barriers and promoting unity in an era characterised by deep divisions,” TVBoy added in the same message on its social networks.
