A first-half goal by Japanese Takuma Asano, assisted by Antonio Rodríguez – his first goal since joining Real Mallorca – and a penalty saved by Predrag Rajkovic in the first half were the highlights of the second friendly that the Balearic team played this Friday in their pre-season training camp in England.

The start of the match was characterised by a lukewarm Mallorcan dominance – including a goal chance for Dani Rodríguez – but in the first attempt by the English rival, Copete committed a penalty on Jeilo. The penalty was saved by Rajkovic – who is very close to being transferred to Arab football – in a display of reflexes.

After the break, a header from David López went just wide, and the Mallorcan coach, Jagoba Arrasate, changed practically the entire team almost at the start of the second half.

The intensity of the match dropped in the final stretch and although the young Mallorcan Marc Doménech scored what could have been 0-2 in the 89th minute, the referee disallowed the goal for offside.

Mallorca will face West Bromwich Albion this Saturday 26th at the WBA Training Centre.
