Inter President Beppe Marotta insists they must \u2018approach it as if the tie was still 0-0\u2019 after beating Bayern Munich 2-1 in the Champions League quarter-final. \u2018We have a specific plan for next season.\u2019<\/p>\n

It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).<\/p>\n

Whoever wins this tie will go on to face Barcelona in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

The first leg was a dramatic 2-1 victory sealed by Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi, ending a 22-match Bayern Munich unbeaten home run in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany are accustomed to this atmosphere and matches of this level, but Bayern are full of champions too, so we cannot underestimate them. We\u2019ve got to approach this game as if the tie was still 0-0,\u201d Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe support of our fans will be of huge help for an extraordinary target that we all want to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n

We saw in last night\u2019s fixtures that even the giants who went through like Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona both conceded three goals, whereas Inter have let in only three goals throughout the entire Champions League campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was one of the peculiarities of our campaign, but I am pleased to note that all teams play to score goals, attack and win. This has been a change in football overall in recent years, and it makes the sport more entertaining. Inter are still in the running for the Treble, so Marotta was asked if their transfer strategy will change for 2025-26 if they win one, two or three trophies?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a very specific plan in place, regardless of how the season ends. Naturally, we want to keep going, but so far it has been a very satisfying season in terms of sporting results and also our finances,\u201d replied the President.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis allows us to prepare a plan for next season making targeted investments on specific profiles, knowing that we will focus on a core of Italian players, plus bringing down the average age of the squad to get value out of young figures, but also still have that mix of experience in the side that is so important.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving Italians is crucial because there is immense pressure in Italian football that some foreign players are perhaps unaccustomed to. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s a good or a bad thing, but it is a factor,\u201d continued Marotta.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust look at Bayern Munich, where their goalkeeper is very young and he is teammates with Thomas Muller, so you need that balance. We also have to take into account the added physical strain of the game nowadays, which has changed in recent years.\u201d<\/p>\n
