Henrikh Mkhitaryan dismissed Bayern Munich\u2019s claims that Inter over-celebrated their 2\u20131 first-leg win in the Champions League quarter-finals, saying the team was \u2018just happy\u2019 but is now fully focused on the return leg at San Siro.<\/p>\n

The Armenian midfielder acknowledged that this is one of the \u2018most exhausting\u2019 seasons he has ever had, although being still competing on all fronts gives the Nerazzurri \u2018huge motivation to keep going\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity, but we need to focus on tomorrow\u2019s match,\u201d Mkhitaryan said at a pre-match press conference, as quoted by TMW.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be tough, against a very strong team. The coach built this team four years ago, I\u2019ve been here for three, and what Inzaghi has done is very important for the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to support him by chasing our goals: tomorrow we\u2019ll do everything we can to win and go as far as possible. In the end, we\u2019ll see whether we make it to the final or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not thinking about the result in Munich, that was a week ago. Tomorrow starts at 0-0, and both teams have the chance to win.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to give our best, and do everything to win the match. We\u2019ll have the huge advantage of our fans\u2014we hope to move forward together.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll focus on how we want to play, not on how Bayern will play. We\u2019re at home and we want to give our best. We know Bayern will come to win\u2014but so do we. It won\u2019t be easy, but we\u2019re ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mkhitaryan: \u2018Unplayable Inter\u2019 became a headline, but that was my opinion at the time<\/h2>\n

Mkhitaryan was then asked whether Inter need to be \u2018unplayable\u2019 against Bayern, an adjective he used to describe them some time ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t say that after the Bayern game\u2014it was two months ago or more,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said something and it became a headline, but that\u2019s fine: that was my opinion at the time. I see how hard my teammates work to get a result for all of us.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still believe we\u2019re a very strong team, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re still fighting on three fronts. We want to go as far as possible. You play the whole season, the whole year, to win something\u2014and this year can give us a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Vincent Kompany and Harry Kane claimed that Inter celebrated as if they had won the tie after their win at the Allianz Arena, but this was not the case for Mkhitaryan.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is free to say what they want,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know what we did, we know we were just happy\u2014there were no celebrations. We want to stay focused on our match, on our game, and nothing else.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of people who talk off the pitch, outside the club, and we try not to hear or listen to any of that. That\u2019s just how football works.\u201d<\/p>\n

Do Inter feel the pressure of winning every match?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re calm. We\u2019re mature, we have the experience we need: we know we have to win every game, whether it\u2019s the Champions League, Serie A, or Coppa Italia,\u201d Mkhitaryan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need to listen to what\u2019s said off the pitch or in the media. We know where we want to go, and to get there you have to win every single day\u2014starting in training, and then in matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not bothered by it because we take responsibility for the results we\u2019re achieving.\u201d<\/p>\n

How does playing every three days affect players\u2019 fitness and mental aspect?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say it\u2019s one of the most difficult seasons I\u2019ve played. It\u2019s mid-April and we\u2019re still competing on all fronts,\u201d Mkhitaryan admitted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of the most demanding seasons I\u2019ve had, but at the same time, it\u2019s great to play every 3-4 days, fighting for all our goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really happy to have reached this stage of my life, of my football career.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe it won\u2019t happen again\u2014I\u2019ve got one or two years left, maybe I\u2019ll stop at the end of the season\u2014but right now, I\u2019m just really happy to be playing for this club and for everything we\u2019re trying to achieve.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying every 3-4 days is actually more enjoyable than playing once a week. Especially when you\u2019re competing in all the competitions we\u2019re in\u2014it gives us great motivation to keep going.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe approach every game as if it were the last. That\u2019s why we\u2019re happy to feel this kind of adrenaline.\u201d<\/p>\n
