Fabio Capello ruled himself out of the Roma job, feels Thiago Motta \u2018didn\u2019t fully understand\u2019 what it meant to be at Juventus and hit out at Pep Guardiola yet again.<\/p>\n

The former Milan, Roma and Juventus boss was attending the WEmbrace Awards and spoke to Tuttomercatoweb.<\/p>\n

He was asked about the rumours that he could return to the Stadio Olimpico as the replacement for Claudio Ranieri in the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I can no longer be a coach at my age. I don\u2019t want them to say I\u2019m a bit senile, that they don\u2019t want me there,\u201d joked the 78-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that, whoever they choose, it is a decision they ponder carefully. Ranieri is dealing with the situation very well and I believe they want to focus on someone who knows how to interpret the very special atmosphere you have at Roma.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juventus have already sacked their coach this week, pulling the plug on Thiago Motta after just eight months to bring in Igor Tudor for the rest of the current campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, when you are the coach of Juventus, the minimum objective is a Champions League place, but the style of football also makes a big difference,\u201d added Capello.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Motta didn\u2019t fully understand where he was, and this is why he had huge difficulties. He wanted to do something different, but that takes time to make such a big change. When you have a three-year contract, you\u2019d think he\u2019d at least finish one full season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Capello hit the headlines in recent months for his criticism of Manchester City manager Guardiola, suggesting the Spaniard was \u201carrogant\u201d and had \u201cruined\u201d football, trying to win games by himself rather than focus on the characteristics of his players.<\/p>\n

Guardiola responded with irritation to the statements and brought them up during a press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, that means I was spot on,\u201d smiled Capello in response.<\/p>\n
