With reports Real Madrid are ready to pay the \u20ac50m release clause in his Bournemouth contract, Juventus fans are left wondering why they let Dean Huijsen go so cheaply.<\/p>\n

The centre-back just made his senior debut for Spain, having previously represented the Netherlands at various youth levels.<\/p>\n

Some are suggesting he chose Spain in part because he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, which could come true this summer.<\/p>\n

There is a \u20ac50m release clause in his current contract with Bournemouth, who signed him from Juventus for just \u20ac15.2m in July 2024.<\/p>\n

Seeing his development has raised important questions about Juve\u2019s decision to cut him loose so early, especially after his six-month loan experience at Roma.<\/p>\n

The Bianconeri could still make a healthy profit, as the move to Bournemouth included another \u20ac3m in performance-related bonuses and crucially a 10 per cent cut of the future sell-on fee.<\/p>\n

That means they can amass circa \u20ac5m if Real Madrid pay the full \u20ac50m release clause.<\/p>\n

Huijsen had been picked up by Juventus for just \u20ac470,000 from the Malaga academy in 2021, moving rapidly up the ranks from Under-17 to the senior squad in 2023.<\/p>\n

He ultimately made only one appearance for the senior squad, for 12 minutes in the 1-0 Serie A victory over Milan in October 2023.<\/p>\n

There were 14 games for Roma during the six-month loan, in which the defender scored two goals and provided one assist.<\/p>\n
