Milan and Inter have officially made an offer to buy the Stadio Meazza stadium and the surrounding areas, aiming to complete the acquisition by July 2025.<\/p>\n

Milanese giants Inter and Milan have made an offer to buy rights to the San Siro area, including the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, which the two clubs have been sharing since 1947.<\/p>\n

\u201cFC Internazionale Milano and AC Milan have today submitted the DOCFAP to the Municipality of Milan, containing the proposal for the acquisition of the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and the surrounding areas, along with a feasibility study for the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium as part of an urban regeneration project focused on innovation, sustainability, and accessibility,\u201d Milan City council confirmed on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis proposal, developed by top professionals and industry experts, is the result of the strategic vision of the two Clubs\u2019 ownerships and lays the foundation for the realization of a project that will serve as an international benchmark while bringing significant benefits to the city of Milan and its residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the coming months, the two Clubs will engage with the Municipal Administration to discuss and further refine the proposal\u2019s details and key aspects, aiming to complete the acquisition process by July 2025. The final concept and the executive project will be presented at a later stage and are therefore not included in the documentation submitted today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The offer is believed to be\u00a0around<\/span>\u00a0\u20ac200m, the price set by the Italian Tax Office earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Inter and Milan had already prepared a project to demolish the Stadio Meazza and build a new co-owned Stadium called \u2018The Cathedral\u2019, but the plan was abandoned as a legally binding made it impossible to wreck the stadium.<\/p>\n

However, if the sale is completed before 2026, the two clubs can partially demolish the Meazza stadium and build a new one nearby.<\/p>\n

Inter and Milan were expected to send their offer last week, but the official proposal was presented a few days later.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were some legal technicalities to be defined between the two clubs, but there was nothing to worry about,\u201d Inter President Beppe Marotta explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have submitted the proposal, a very important step for Inter and Milan, as both clubs will contribute to the city\u2019s development. There will be a new stadium that meets the standards of modern venues. Regarding facilities, we still have a gap compared to other European clubs. Today, we are trying to set an example from Milan that could inspire many Serie A clubs. The government has promised to appoint a special commissioner soon, so as a football executive and professional, I am confident that we can finally start an important path for Italian football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milan President Paolo Scaroni spoke to ANSA, adding: \u201cThis is a significant step, but it is only the first in a process where nothing can be taken for granted. What is certain is the commitment and determination of both clubs in this direction, whereas for Milan, the strategic vision and concrete dedication of RedBird, who has international experience in stadium projects, have been fundamental.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a beautiful stadium, modern and sustainable, but also safe and accessible, ideal for everyone, including families and children, fostering a truly healthy fan culture against any form of crime and violence. A green and innovative project that will benefit the city and its residents.\u201d<\/p>\n
