Inter have confirmed that midfielder Piotr Zielinski is set for a spell on the sidelines after learning the results of his medical tests from the injury he picked up during the 3-2 Serie A win over Monza on Saturday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Poland international was introduced as a second-half substitute for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but his evening lasted just a few moments before going down clutching his calf in agony. Joaquin Correa was called in to replace Zielinski three minutes after he was brought on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nerazzurri have confirmed that the 30-year-old reported for further medical tests at the Humanitas facility in Rozzano on Monday, which has revealed a medial ligament calf injury in his right leg.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zielinski is expected to miss at least two months of action as a result of his injury, which means that he is unlikely to return before May. There is a possibility that he is not fully fit before the end of the 2024-25 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If that is the case, then Zielinski will have to wait until the FIFA Club World Cup in June to mark his return from injury.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
