The agent of Juventus full-back and Italy international Andrea Cambiaso has revealed that the interest from Manchester City during the January transfer window \u2018was true\u2019 and that\u00a0<\/span>Pep Guardiola \u2018wanted him\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Giovanni Bia, who represents Cambiaso as well as a number of other young Italian talents, was a guest on Radio Goal on Kiss Kiss Napoli on Thursday, where he discussed a number of topics including the interest in his client on the January transfer market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There had been reports over the last month that City were considering a bid in the region of \u20ac65m for the versatile Bianconeri defender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During his radio appearance on Thursday, Bia revealed that the reports in the Italian press \u2018were true\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJuventus will explain what happened,\u201d he began.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you that what came out in the newspapers in relation to the negotiations is all true. It\u2019s true that Guardiola wanted him,\u201d Cambiaso\u2019s agent revealed, reported via Tuttosport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

City did not hold back in January, spending well over \u20ac200m on Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, Nico Gonzalez from Porto, Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And while Cambiaso did not end up at the Etihad, there are still reports that City could come back in with an official bid during the summer transfer window.<\/span><\/p>\n
