Cagliari and Empoli are eager to bring Cyriel Dessers back to Serie A from Glasgow Rangers, claim Sky Sport Italia.<\/p>\n

The Nigeria international just turned 30 last month and had a brief experience in Italy for the 2022-23 campaign at Cremonese.<\/p>\n

He was sold to Rangers after just one year at a cost of \u20ac5m following their relegation to Serie B, where he scored six goals in 26 Serie A appearances before a serious knee injury.<\/p>\n

The striker has contributed 12 goals and four assists in 30 competitive games for Glasgow Rangers so far this season, including one in the Europa League.<\/p>\n

However, he has dropped down the pecking order in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, relegation-threatened Cagliari and Empoli are both interested in a potential January offer for Dessers.<\/p>\n

Cagliari had already been linked over the summer.<\/p>\n

It would likely be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season for the man who has two goals in six senior caps for Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The centre-forward\u2019s contract with the Scottish side runs to May 2027.<\/p>\n
