This last championship was born in 2005 as a category that would share the stage and circuits with Formula 1 precisely to promote young emerging promises to the highest category of motorsport. It is important that young drivers from both championships have the opportunity to race on as many F1 circuits as possible. With the addition of Madrid to the Formula 1 calendar, it was logical that F2 and F3 would follow the same path.
