Mario Hermoso admitted the situation he\u2019s facing at Roma is \u2018not easy\u2019 as he has already watched two managers come and go in his first months at the club, with newly-appointed Claudio Ranieri becoming his third coach this season.<\/p>\n

Such a lack of stability is in stark contrast with what the defender has lived at Atletico Madrid, where he played for five seasons under boss Diego Simeone, and he hopes to find the same \u2018consistency\u2019 soon at the Stadio Olimpico.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old swapped the Madrid outfit with Roma last summer, but he conceded he can\u2019t \u2018close the door\u2019 to a potential return to Spain as the ease of playing in his own \u2018home country\u2019 is something that he\u2019s still attracted to and would make things \u2018easier\u2019.<\/p>\n

Hermoso: changing three coaches \u2018not easy\u2019, \u2018I can\u2019t close the door\u2019 on a return to Spain<\/h2>\n

\u201cSettling in at Roma was difficult, but within the team, despite the coaching changes, there\u2019s a great atmosphere, even though we haven\u2019t yet found consistency in the league,\u201d Hermoso told AS in an interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, however, I adapted quickly. And then there are the Argentinians and Angeli\u00f1o, who\u2019s also Spanish.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not easy [to change two coaches quickly], honestly. I wasn\u2019t used to these kinds of changes, but football is like that, and you have to adapt. I hope we\u2019ll soon find consistency in our results and be able to turn the situation around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Real Madrid reportedly targeted Hermoso to replace long-term injured Eder Milit\u00e3o, and the Giallorossi defender admitted to being still \u2018grateful\u2019 to the Merengues for the time he spent there playing for their youth sides at the beginning of his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, yes. I read about it [the transfer rumours]. Many friends told me,\u201d the Spaniard added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has happened during various transfer windows. Every time you\u2019re linked to great teams like Real Madrid, it\u2019s an honour. I was part of their youth academy, and I\u2019m grateful for everything they contributed to my development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 29, and a large part of my career has been in Spain.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like La Liga football, and being in your home country makes everything easier. That\u2019s why I can\u2019t close the door on a possible return to Spain.\u201d<\/p>\n
