Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claimed the \u2018result\u2019 is the \u2018worst thing\u2019 of their night in San Siro, as he believes his side showed complete \u2018dominance\u2019 despite falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Inter in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

The Gunners went behind in the closing minutes of the first half due to a penalty awarded for a handball from Mikel Merino which left Arsenal \u2018extremely frustrated\u2019, especially when coupled with the referee\u2019s decision not to punish a previous contact between the midfielder\u2019s head and goalkeeper Yann Sommer.<\/p>\n

Arteta said such calls \u2018marked the result\u2019, leading to a verdict which is \u2018difficult to accept\u2019, but insisted their first Champions League defeat of the season was \u2018one of the best games\u2019 he has seen his side play in years, as they could\u2019ve scored \u2018at least two goals\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe worst thing of the night for sure is the result,\u201d Arteta said at a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe dominance, the attitude and the performance we showed against one of the best teams in Europe, in this stadium, I haven\u2019t seen it in all the games that I watched. For sure, this is one of the best games I\u2019ve seen my team playing in years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reality is the result and we had many situations in front of goal that we could have resolved better enough to score at least two goals.<\/p>\n\"Inter<\/picture>\n

\u201cWe are extremely frustrated as well because there are then two decisions that, in the end, marked the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand,\u201d Arteta continued, commenting on the incident that led to a penalty and making a comparsion with the other controversial moment involving Merino and Sommer.<\/p>\n
