The club communicated this decision after a dispute in the last league game against Gr\u00eamio (2:2) between the five-time Champions League winner and coach Mano Menezes.<\/p>\n<p>          <\/p>\n<p>Marcelo&#8217;s contract was valid until the end of December 2024. Fluminense, which is fighting against relegation this season, reiterated in its statement that &#8220;the institutional and emotional connections&#8221; will continue to be maintained. Since his return, Marcelo has won the Copa Libertadores, the Recopa Sudamericana and the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.<\/p>\n<p>       <\/p>\n<p>Marcelo, who was born in Rio, started his career with Fluminense in 2005 and moved to Real Madrid in 2007.
