Fiorentina have confirmed the result of tests on the Albert Gudmundsson muscular injury, which should keep him out for at least a month.<\/p>\n

The Iceland international limped off in the opening minutes of their Serie A match at the weekend, where they thrashed 10-man Lecce 6-0.<\/p>\n

They had to wait several days to undergo the necessary tests, waiting for the swelling to go down.<\/p>\n

A statement released this afternoon confirms that Gudmundsson has been diagnosed with a Grade I\/II lesion to the myotendinous junction in femoral bicep of the right thigh.<\/p>\n

The player has already begun the treatment process with the club\u2019s medical staff.<\/p>\n

This type of injury generally requires at least four to six weeks on the sidelines, so he could miss quite a few games between Serie A, the Conference League and Coppa Italia.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old had a very strong start to his career at Fiorentina since the move from Genoa, scoring three goals in five appearances between Serie A and the UEFA Conference League.<\/p>\n
