Former Milan and Juventus manager Fabio Capello applauded the firm way Paulo Fonseca expressed his views in a recent press conference, urging the Rossoneri players to \u2018take responsibility\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese coach spoke to the media ahead of his side\u2019s home game against Udinese and claimed he doesn\u2019t \u2018give a s\u2026.about players\u2019 names\u2019, insisting he\u2019s ready to make bold decisions such as benching the players who ignored the penalty hierarchy during Milan\u2019s 2-1 loss at Fiorentina.<\/p>\n

Capello explained Fonseca\u2019s words were necessary to dispel doubts about his authority in the locker room, and he was also supportive of his potential choice to bench Rafael Leao against Udinese, which would prove his \u2018courage\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did well,\u201d Capello told La Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview about Fonseca\u2019s strong words in his press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs he said, it\u2019s time for Milan players to take responsibility for wearing such an important shirt.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter their defeat against Fiorentina, many criticised the Milan coach for lacking authority. And considering the penalty chaos, it was a legitimate doubt.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday\u2019s press conference is a signal in this regard: now stop, I\u2019m the manager and I make the decisions, the footballers must adapt.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I don\u2019t think that Fonseca went to the press conference just to make a show, I\u2019m sure the words he used inside the locker room were just as harsh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leao could remain on the bench in the Rossoneri\u2019s clash against Udinese and Capello believes it would be a \u2018legitimate\u2019 choice if Fonseca thinks this is \u2018for Milan\u2019s sake\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Fonseca thinks it\u2019s for Milan\u2019s sake, then it\u2019s right for him to make even bold decisions such as keeping one of the best team players out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if he would do it for behavioural reasons, if he didn\u2019t stomach some statements from Leao during the international break or just for technical-tactical motives, or even for rotations, but it\u2019s legitimate.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe Paulo deserves a well done for his courage anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leao only scored one Serie A goal in seven games for Milan this season, while he is still to find the net in the Champions League after two matches.<\/p>\n
