(Photo by Francesco Pecoraro\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Former Napoli director Mauro Meluso confirms that the Partenopei will consider offers for Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window and reveals the Nigeria international received an \u2018important\u2019 proposal in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Meluso was the Napoli sports director in 2023-24, but he was appointed in July last year and left the club the following April.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple reports suggest Napoli-owned striker Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has a clause for the January transfer window as well as one for the summer.<\/p>\n<h3>Osimhen received \u2018important offer\u2019 as January transfer still possible<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cHe no longer wanted to be part of the first team,\u201d Meluso said during the \u2018Palermo Football Conference\u2019 as quoted by Corriere dello Sport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had received an important offer even before I arrived at Napoli, but De Laurentiis didn\u2019t consider it because he thought about the club\u2019s good. He may have made wrong decisions but did them to keep Napoli competitive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan in September, after the summer transfer window closed in the top five European leagues and the Saudi Pro League.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a last-minute solution so he would not lose the first three months [of the season], then, in January, they\u2019ll see,\u201d concluded Meluso.<\/p>\n<nav aria-label=\"Posts\">\n<h2>Post navigation<\/h2>\n<\/nav><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAPLES, ITALY &#8211;
