Roma are still actively pursuing a potential deal with Juventus for Italy international Federico Chiesa, who could be available at a cut-down price after a string of disappointing performances at EURO 2024, according to reports in Italy.<\/p>\n

Chiesa is now into the final 12 months of his contract with Juventus, and if he does not agree to a new deal in Turin, then he is expected to be allowed to move on this summer.<\/p>\n

An extension to Chiesa\u2019s current deal seems unlikely at this moment in time, and therefore the Bianconeri will look to pick up some sort of transfer fee, rather than allowing him to leave for free in less than a year\u2019s time.<\/p>\n

Why Roma expect Juventus to drop asking price for Chiesa<\/h2>\n

Juventus had been hoping to pick up a fee in the region of \u20ac35m-\u20ac40m for Chiesa with one year left on his deal, however, according to reports from Tuttosport on Thursday, those figures are expected to come down by roughly \u20ac10m, ie. \u20ac25m-\u20ac30m, following an uninspiring run of performances at EURO 2024.<\/p>\n

The former Fiorentina attacker held his own against Albania, but disappointed against Spain and in the disappointing round of 16 exit to Switzerland on Saturday. There was a slightly more promising appearance from the substitutes\u2019 bench against Croatia in the final group stage match.<\/p>\n

Juventus may still be able to record a capital gain on their balance sheets if they were to let Chiesa go for somewhere in the \u20ac30m mark, as they would no longer have to factor in his relatively heft wages.<\/p>\n

Roma are reportedly interested in reuniting Chiesa with his former Juve teammate Paulo Dybala as part of a restructuring of the Giallorossi attack. Roma have already bid farewell to 2023-24 loanees Romelu Lukaku and Sardar Azmoun, as well as Andrea Belotti.<\/p>\n

The Giallorossi have already had two meetings with Chiesa\u2019s agents in order to discuss the possibility of a move down to the capital.<\/p>\n
