Reinforcements for the midfield

Atlético Madrid has loaned Saúl Ñíguez. The 29-year-old central midfielder will play for LaLiga rivals Sevilla FC next season, as both clubs confirmed on Monday. They also agreed on the possibility of extending this relationship. The homegrown player still has a contract with the Rojiblancos until 2026.
With 427 appearances for his training club, Ñíguez is one of Atlético’s top ten record players and has won numerous trophies, including the Spanish championship and two Europa League victories. In the past, he has been loaned out twice: to Rayo Vallecano (2013/14) and Chelsea FC (2021/22).
Transfer double for FC Sevilla: Arsenal’s Lokonga also arrives
Sevilla had previously secured the services of Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga – also on loan. The 24-year-old central midfielder will join for one year and can then be signed permanently with a purchase option reportedly worth 12 million euros. His salary will be paid by Sevilla, and the Gunners are also said to have secured a 25 percent share of the resale if the clause is triggered.
Lokonga has been loaned out twice since joining Arsenal in 2021: first to Crystal Palace, then to Luton Town. He has played 39 times for the north London club.
