With midfielder Fredrik Jensen from FC Augsburg, a change to Major League Soccer apparently makes a move. As the “kicker” reports on its own information, a deal with the St. Louis City SC is on the home stretch. Only last details should be clarified. Meanwhile, two players have moved into the Augsburg focus.
According to the report, St. Louis Jensen wants to sign until April 23rd on April 23. The FCA shouldn’t put any stones in his way. The 27-year-old Finn was in the last eight games in the starting eleven, but his contract expires at the end of June-as well as six other Augsburg professionals (loan player counted). Jensen was in the meantime for several months after a groin surgery this season and has 18 missions with 718 minutes in the event of a cross -competition. He did not succeed. In 2018, the FCA paid 3 million euros for Jensen to Twente Enschede.
In St. Louis, he would meet a number of players from Germany known from Germany – Ua captain Roman Bürki, Timo Baumgartl and Eduard Löwen as the most valuable professional with a market value of 5 million euros are part of the squad (for overview). Sports director is Lutz Pfannenstiel. St. Louis, part of the MLS since 2022, took place twelve in the Western Conference after eight match days.
Sylla and Rieder in the focus of FC Augsburg
While something could happen on the side, the FCA will be patient at the next season. “We will take the necessary time. If we get someone, it has to be full of conviction,” sports director Marinko Jurendic is quoted by the “Augsburg Allgemeine”. The association looks around for possible reinforcements in all positions. Rumors recently circulated around Max Johnston (Sturm Graz), but the right -back is not an issue for the Fuggerstadt. Meanwhile, Jurendic confirmed the interest in Morlaye Sylla from the Portuguese first division club FC Arouca and Stuttgart Fabian Rieder on the sidelines of the 2-1 in Bochum.
Sylla, mainly on the left wing or in the offensive midfield, stands in 28 missions at two goals and is free of charge in summer. The situation is different with Rieder. He is awarded to VfB from Rennes, but has a difficult stand there and is usually only substituted. Its market value recently dropped from 10 million to EUR 7 million. Depending on the source, the Stuttgarters could fix him for EUR 10 million to EUR 14 million, otherwise his contract will run in Rennes until 2027. “I know him from the past. He is a national player in Switzerland, a great player with a fine left foot who is good for every team,” said Jurendic about Rieder. However, it could be too expensive for the FCA, and Borussia Mönchengladbach is also considered interested.
