Eintracht Frankfurt defender William Pacho (22) is reportedly about to move to PSG. A final transfer fee, a new record sum for SGE for a defender, seems to have already been agreed. Now the medical check is pending. Left-back Philipp Max (30), on the other hand, has decided to move to Greece – Pacho’s replacement could also come from there.
Update: On Tuesday, “L’Équipe” reported that Pacho’s medical check was scheduled for this week. The trade magazine also reported a transfer fee of 40 million euros, which could rise to up to 45 million euros with bonuses. Transfer reporters Florian Plettenberg and Fabrizio Romano had already mentioned a similar sum. The Ecuadorian’s market value at Eintracht had more than tripled since his move last year. With a transfer fee of 40 million euros, he will be the most expensive sale of a central defender for SGE and the fourth most expensive overall.
Max leaves Eintracht Frankfurt and moves to Greece
Meanwhile, left-back Max signed in Athens. Panathinaikos decided to sign the veteran after the player they actually wanted, Dimitrios Giannoulis (28), moved to FC Augsburg. According to reporter Plettenberg, the transfer fee for Max, who lost more and more relevance in the Frankfurt system last season, could amount to up to one million euros including bonuses.
Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche said of the move: “Philipp has shown himself to be a team player in his one and a half years at Eintracht and was an important part of the team during this time. We have fulfilled his wish to take on a new challenge in which he hopes to get more playing time.”
PAOK’s top talent Konstantinos Koulierakis (20) could go the other way from Greece to Frankfurt. The club’s most valuable defender has also been traded at VfB Stuttgart in recent weeks. According to “Sportime”, Eintracht is said to be pushing for a signing. The required transfer fee was recently mentioned as 11 million euros. SGE is said to have been interested in the young national player last winter. At the time, his market value was estimated at less than half at 4.5 million euros.
