For the fourth time, the Luxemburger Tiago Pereira Cardoso, who turned 19 on Monday, was in the Bundesliga goal for Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend. Only three goalkeepers in the history of the upper house held the zero longer after their debut, but nobody was as young as the four -time international.
It took 282 minutes for Pereira Cardoso, actually captain of the Mönchengladbacher U19. Pereira Cardoso: Only three keeper after Bundesliga debut without conceding a goal
The 1.90 meter tall goalkeeper with Luxembourg and Portuguese roots also contributed to the Bundesliga history books: only three keepers remained longer without a goal after their debut in the upper house. Heribert Macherey conceded his first goal in the fourth Bundesliga game after 294 minutes in the 1991/92 season. At this point, however, the zebra legend was already 36 years old. The then 20-year-old Dirk Krüssenberg also remained three games without a goal in the service of Fortuna Düsseldorf in 1966/67 before ranging in his box for the first time after 309 minutes.
The Timo Horn, which is active at VfL Bochum today, leads the ranking according to the TM database. He held the white vest for 364 minutes at the beginning of his Bundesliga career. In the 2014/15 season, Horn only caught the first goal for the 1st FC Köln on matchday fifth against Hannover 96, Joselu overcame the then 21-year-old early in the initial phase.
