Of the ten largest squad-value winners according to the latest market value updates, two come from the Bundesliga. A German club can also be found among the ten clubs that lost the most. The starting point for the assessment was the currently 100 most valuable clubs and their total values before the updates on March 1. Above all, the 1st FSV Mainz 05 is one of the promoters.
The Rheinhessen increased by a whopping 40.2 million-and more than Real Madrid (+38.5 million)-to 152.6 million euros, which contested their best Bundesliga season in club history with 45 points after the 27th matchday. The Champions League aspirant only had a higher squad value for a short time in summer 2019 with EUR 164.6 million before Jean-Philippe Gbamin switched to FC Everton for 25 million euros. Three professionals posted a plus of 10 million euros: Jonathan Burkardt (to 35 million), Paul Nebel (to 17 million) and Kaishu Sano (to 17 million).
There were only three clubs worldwide that surpassed the squad value plus from the zero fifers. Just before FSV, this year’s Premier League surprise team Nottingham Forest ranks with an increase in EUR 41 million, Paris Saint-Germain with 55 million and the AFC Bournemouth with EUR 67.8 million. After the final placements 15 and twelve in the past two years, Bournemouth, in which Dean Huijsen (+24 to 42 million), has been one of the biggest winners in the squad, currently tenth and the European Cup ranks are within reach. The third-placed Nottingham is on course to take part in the premier class for the first time after 44 years-in the international comparison of the most valuable squad, both make up well and approach the top 20.
In addition to Mainz, from a German perspective, Eintracht Frankfurt (+35 million) and FC Augsburg (+26 million) can also be found in the front places. BVB under the largest squad-value losers worldwide
The situation is completely different with Borussia Dortmund. Internationally, the minus was only clearer for three other clubs: Real Sociedad (-37.7 million), West Ham (-40.4 million) and AC Milan (-46.5 million). At AC Milan, which threatens to miss the European Cup 2025/26, Theo Hernández (-10 to 40 million) and Mike Maignan (-10 to 25 million), which are completely out of shape, as well as the mostly lackluster winter access João Félix (-5 to 25 million) are among the losing.
