English festival 2025/26?

This season, two additional starting places in the Champions League went to BVB and FC Bologna, since the Bundesliga and Serie A 2023/24 internationally collected the most points in UEFA five years. During this season, the Premier League is very likely to receive one of the extra places, but in 2025/26 up to seven English representatives in the premier class could be involved. And even eleven spread over the three UEFA competitions.
In order for these English festival to occur, some more or less unrealistic scenarios have to occur. In order to start with seven teams in the Champions League, it would be necessary for Aston Villa to win the Henkelpott and, in parallel, do not end up in one of the first five places in the league – the club from Birmingham is currently nine.
The fact that Aston Villa in the Allianz Arena on May 31 is to extend the trophy is very unlikely among bookmakers. Only with BVB do the chances are even worse. Anyway, the scenario would mean six English starters, since the winner of the premier class is automatically qualified for the next Champions League season.
In order to put the number to seven, it is necessary that either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur win the Europa League and in turn enter the first five in the Premier League. The latter should not be a problem, with 13 points each behind the fifth -placed Manchester City. In the quarter -finals of the Europa League, the Red Devils and the Spurs, which can only meet in the final, can be counted among the favorites.
The last chance for both clubs to save a messed up season. In order for all clubs to take the Europa League seriously, the UEFA introduced the rule that the winner not only receives the trophy, but also a ticket for the upcoming Champions League season.
How the Premier League comes on eleven clubs in the European Cup
Now we have seven English teams on Europe’s largest football stage. This would mean that the sixth place in the Premier League leads to the Europa League – provided the English winners of the Champions League and the Europa League prove any of these ranks. But that’s not enough!
The winner of the FA Cup also receives a ticket for the Europa League – favorite for victory this season is the Citizens, where we assume that they will secure a place in the top five and thus in the premier class. Your Europa League starting site as a FA-Cup winner would go to the league and so seventh place in Europe’s second largest competition.
Not to be forgotten is on the island of the EFL Cup, the winner of which qualifies for the Conference League. In the final on March 16, FC Liverpool and Newcastle United competed, where we expect our scenario to play at least Europa League in 2025/26. As a result, the Premier League receives a Conference League starting area via the leaguea leaf. Stand now we would be on seven tickets in the premier class, two in the Europa League and one in the Conference League. There is more.
It is unlikely that the villans grab Europe’s football crown, but there were already crazy things. The fact that United or Tottenham gain the Europa League is more likely, as is the same that Chelsea will continue to dominate in the Conference League. The latter is a prerequisite for keeping the chance of the Premier League alive on eleven European starters. So far, the blues has taken the smallest UEFA competition very seriously with eight wins from eight games-on the way to the final, the hurdles of Legia Warsaw and Djurgården or Rapid Vienna are called.
The winner of the Conference League receives a starting place for the Europa League. In order for Chelsea to make use of this, they would have to land outside of the places justified for the Europa League in the Premier League. At the moment, the world’s second most tax squad is fourth in the narrow table and the lead to eighth place is four points.
Whether it is actually eleven Premier League clubs in the end that are touring through Europe between Tuesday and Thursday or, like this season, “only” seven-the richest league in the world should remain exciting until the last match day. Who knows, maybe you will even come to Europe as a table party …
