The unique English international Mason Greenwood wants to appear for Jamaica in the future. This was confirmed by England’s football chief Mark Bullingham. “As far as I know, he asked to change,” he is quoted by “The Athletic”, among other things. Greenwood completed his only game for Three Lions in September 2020 in 1-0 against Iceland.
According to FIFA statutes, the association change is possible, including because Greenwood’s commitment to England was more than three years ago and he was under 21 at the time. The striker was born in Bradford in English, but thanks to his grandparents he could also appear for Jamaica. Greenwood, at the Olympique Marseille since summer, would be the second most value -worthy professional in the event of a change of association. Aston Villa (38 million) would only be an ex-Leverkusener Leon Bailey (38 million) by Aston Villa.
Greenwood had finally left Manchester United last summer and joined Olympique Marseille. He once debuted for the Red Devils at the age of 17, followed by 128 more games with 47 goal participations before his career stopped suddenly. The reason for this was allegations of violence against the former top talent, the highest market value of which was 50 million euros. In January 2022, he was therefore suspended as a result of investigations by the British judiciary. After they were dropped a year later, United was announced that the procedure could result in the fact that the own plant would no longer play for the club.
This was followed by a loan to FC Getafe and the move to OM. In Marseille, Greenwood increased its market value from 25 million to 35 million euros and is in the league and in the cup with 16 goals and three templates after 26 missions.
