It was imposed on the Australian Alex de Miñaur 6-4, 3-6 and 6-2. It is the First Spanish in the Honor Table of this event in which only Juan Carlos Ferrero (lost the 2004 final against Hewitt) and Rafa Nadal (fell against Murray in 2009) caressed to lift the trophy.
Alcaraz has left more in Rotterdam. He suffered some concentration problems against Van Der Zandschulp, but against Vavassori and Pedro Martínez he showed his level verdarero. In semifinals, against Hubert Hurkacz, he saw 1-4 down the first set. He reacted to exhibit his best tennis in what we have been in the following games, score the manga and, later, endure a third envy in which he closed the pass to the final.
He Spanish gave the saying that there are not two without three. Alex de Miñaur, number 8 of the ATP ranking, beat again, As he did in the semifinals of Godó 2022 and the Queen´s 2023 final. He has won him by land, grass and now, in cement.
He current Wimbledon and Roland Garros champion He jumped to the track with the nasal pull, as in the entire tournament, but this time he changed the black color for last year. The cold, which dragged days before traveling to Rotterdam, has accompanied him this week. He had struck the first set after a break in the third game, but from Miñaur it matched him to put the 4-4. The hint of relaxation or disconnection lasted a sigh. Alcaraz achieved the counterbreak to close the sleeve with his serve and his usual shout of ‘Vamos’ (6-4).
The success with the serve (he won 75% of the points played with his first service) facilitated Alcaraz to put an advantage against one of Miñaur to which something congested and coughing for several phase of the game. In the second set, the Australian squeezed to take advantage of the second break ball that he had before the first game to Carlos’s serve. And, on this occasion, he validated the break to get 3-0.
Alcaraz seemed to be in a bump (he only carried 58% of points won with the first service) to the point that again, with his serve, he offered two break options to his rival. He saved them. He avoided a 4-0 that was finally predicted for the outcome of this second set.
A Double lack of Miñaur for 30-30 with 4-2 He opened a door to Alcaraz. The Murcia, with a great setback and a right, was out of break, but the Australian pulled his serve to neutralize the Spanish options on this set. The game went to the third.
A bad right, in an unusual error in Alcaraz, broke down the first break ball of which he ordered in the decisive sleeve. The game, one of the longest in the game, finally fell on the Australian side (1-1). The final was going to decide for a minimum detail, seen the reigning equality. And he arrived when Carlitos took advantage of the first of the two break balls in the sixth game. He signed a masterful left of Miñaur, but sent the ball out. The breakage (4-2) was definitive. Alcaraz already felt in winning mode. The ‘Let’s’ with the one who threw the track when he won his subsequent serve so corroborated. Miñaur no longer added anymore and the game closed with 6-2 for Carlitos.
